DMSE celebrated it's 30th anniversary this year with a "30 Years Running" Gala

Guest speakers included Senator Scott Brown, B.A.A. Executive Director Tom Grilk, running legends Bill Rodgers, Karen Smyers, Team Hoyt and Coach Billy Squires, and former Evening Magazine host Barry Nolan. Award winning race announcer Toni Reavis and DMSE’s own Jack LeDuc was the MC of the evening.
All proceeds from the event benefitted the DMSE Children's Fitness Foundation’s new Running in Places program that combines physical activity with visits to educational and historic locations around Boston. The motivational program, launched as a pilot program in 2010, helps public school children learn the importance of physical fitness, self-esteem, peer respect and education. Destinations are chosen for their combination of fitness resources and educational opportunities. For example, last fall we coordinated a run along the Charles River Esplanade, and students enjoyed a visit to Boston’s Museum of Science.
