Dave McGillivray, BAA Boston Marathon Race Director and President of DMSE Sports, Inc. and founder of the DMSE Children’s Fitness Foundation (Parent McLaughlin and Nangle client) celebrated the 30th anniversary of his Run Across the Country, from Medford Oregon to Medford Mass. to benefit the Jimmy Fund.
In 1978, at age 23, Dave McGillivray ran for 3,452 miles and began a lifetime of "combining philanthropy with endurance events and road races, with the Jimmy Fund at the focus of the majority of his endeavors."
On August 14th of this year, Mr. McGillivray combined his annual birthday (54 years young) run with the Jimmy Fund WEEI/NESN radio-telethon. Mr. McGillivray’s run consisted of running 54 miles (his years in miles) from Boston to Hopkinton/Hopkinton to Boston along the Boston Marathon course ending his run at Fenway Park prior to the Red Sox game and has raised over $30,000 so far for the Jimmy Fund.
